OUR&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; MISSIONInploration exists to channel the human fascination with the cosmos towards social and environmental change. By bridging art, science, education, futures literacy, and design, we use the power of space to inspire our best on Earth, now.
EARTHRISEAPOLLO 8 MISSION, 1968The Earthrise photograph—one of the most collected images of all time—helped to launch Earth Day and the modern environmental movement. The power of Earthrise speaks to “The Overview Effect”—a cognitive shift in awareness reported by astronauts when in spaceflight, seeing Earth from a new perspective. With a heightened understanding of the fragility and unity of life on our planet, many astronauts return from space with deep commitments to environmental stewardship and global cooperation.

		<description>

	THE &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;CHALLENGE
Space can feel inaccessible, exclusive, reserved for the select few, a frontier out of reach. Creative images of our vast universe can still engender a deep sense of wonder without limits, but we are oversaturated with images of space and need new ways to cultivate “Earthrise moments” today.

	OUR&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;SOLUTIONThrough art, design and new conversation with a full spectrum of thought leaders, Inploration expands access to deeper experiences of space and science. We creatively spark novel means of seeing our only home anew—fostering stewardship for the planet and awakening a deeper appreciation for those we share it with.

	OUR&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;PROJECTS ︎︎︎Our strategy unfolds through four key pillars: the Design + Education Lab, Artbook, Album, and Exhibit. These initiatives unite art, science, and exploration to spark curiosity and inspire action. By bridging creativity with cosmic wonder, we aim to foster deeper connections and drive change for a better future on Earth.

	Through our projects, we aim to facilitate new perspectives. We aim to give the public a chance to engage and turn their gaze back to Earth to creatively experience this one small speck in the vast universe.

	Inploration is transforming how humanity connects with space through the groundbreaking Lunar Mission Control installation, developed with MIT's Space Exploration Initiative (SEI). Launching on February 26, 2025, this innovative installation merges art and science to create an immersive experience that brings real-time lunar operations to life through artistic expression. Featuring cutting-edge technologies like the AstroAnt robot and LiDAR data from the Moon, alongside interactive art projections and immersive design, this new approach to mission control not only showcases innovation but also sparks deeper reflection on our cosmic connection, making space exploration both meaningful and accessible to all.

Shown March 5, 2025 during the unveiling ceremonies for the Lunar Mission Control structure at MIT Media Lab Cambridge Massachusetts with MIT Architecture and the Space Exploration Initiative.

Inploration produced a short film, Inploration, 2025, that gathers perspectives from 55 recorded interviews with artists, scientists, and thinkers reflecting on humanity’s relationship with space. Set against the Lunar Mission Control installation, the film presents perspectives from Lita Albuquerque, Nancy Baker Cahill, Cai Guo-Qiang, Dava Newman, and others. Their words, drawn from their work and experiences, offer a window into the ways art and science intersect in our understanding of the cosmos.

Our education initiatives are dedicated to inspiring the next generation of creative thinkers, innovators, and designers. Through strategic partnerships with renowned institutions such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cranbrook Academy of Art and the Dyson School of Design, amongst others soon to be announced, we aim to foster a holistic understanding of our planet and the universe beyond.

By collaborating with these institutions, we aim to cultivate a deep sense of interconnectedness and stewardship. Through immersive workshops, interdisciplinary projects, or exploratory design programs, students are encouraged to reflect on humanity’s place in the cosmos—promoting empathy, unity, and innovative thinking that transcends traditional boundaries.Image Left:
